The 53rd Annual Meeting of Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Hawai'i is just a week away. All clergy and delegates should be fully prepared for the day's agenda and protocols. Unlike last year, we anticipate this year's meeting to run as long as the previous in-person gatherings. To help keep things running as smoothly as possible, we share some important updates and reminders:

UPDATED WORKBOOK - The Convention Workbook has been updated and posted today, October 15, 2021. If you previously downloaded the Workbook, be sure to replace it with the new Workbook.

BUDGET - The Proposed 2022 Budget is posted (Numbers and Narrative) along with a video presentation summary (8 minutes).

NOMINEES - Nominees for the various governance committees are posted. Be sure to take the time to read each candidate's submission to make informed selections. Although nominations are being accepted from the floor, there will be no opportunity for background information being shared for those candidates.

RESOLUTIONS - There are currently four resolutions being considered. The Resolutions Committee has proposed a Substitute Resolution #3 which s also posted. Be sure to take the time to read each resolution in order to make informed choices.

VOTING - Voting will be done through Zoom polls, or for matters from the floor, using the "Yes" "No" feature. To learn about using Zoom polls for this meeting, see Zoom Training below.

ZOOM TRAINING - For those unfamiliar or with limited knowledge of using Zoom, the training sessions for each device (desktop/laptop, tablets, smartphones) were recorded and are posted on the Convention webpage. (Scroll to the bottom of the page.) The Power Point slides are available for viewing/downloading.

CHECKING IN - To check in for the meeting, you must only use the link provided in the official Zoom meeting notice that you received by email. Each participant must have a unique email address (no sharing) for compliance with strict voting protocols. Like last year, there will be staggered check-in times that begin as early as an hour before the start of the meeting. REMINDER: DO NOT log off or shut down your computer once you have checked in. Be sure your audio and video is turned off!

PHYSICAL PREPARATIONS - To help with your active participation, there are a few reminders, especially about the electronic devices you will be using:
- Make sure you have the latest updates for your Zoom app. (Click HERE for more info.)
- Just prior to the meeting, be sure to reboot your modem and the device you will be using, to clear up excessive memory draining activity and to ensure a smoother running experience.
- Be sure your devices are plugged in or are fully charged with the ability to recharge. It will be a long day. You should NOT turn off your device or logout from the meeting during the course of the meeting including breaks.
