TO: The Episcopal Diocese of Hawaiʻi
Na ke aloha o ke Akua ma loko o Iesu Kristo, e aloha iā ʻoukou ā pau!
My dear Siblings in Christ,
First, I ask your prayers for the 56th Annual Meeting of the Episcopal Diocese of Hawaiʻi. Canonically resident clergy and lay delegates from our Congregations will gather at The Cathedral this coming Saturday, October 12, to conduct the business of our Diocese.
Almighty and everliving God, source of all wisdom and understanding, be present with those who take counsel in the 56th Annual Meeting of the Episcopal Diocese of Hawaiʻi for the renewal and mission of your Church. Teach us in all things to seek first your honor and glory. Guide us to perceive what is right, and grant us both the courage to pursue it and the grace to accomplish it; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
You can learn more about the meeting at CONVENTION: 56th Annual Meeting of the Episcopal Diocese of Hawaiʻi.
In addition, I call your attention to the needs of the world.
The impact of Hurricanes Helene and Milton have been dire and the needs are great. Our own Episcopal Relief & Development Fund can direct funds to respond to those most recently effected: SUPPORT THE HURRICANE RELIEF FUND.
Likewise, the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine is disheartening. We can help in small ways by engaging the work of American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem (AFEDJ) and making a donation to AFEDJ’s "United in Hope" campaign. This supports fellow members of the Church in responding to the humanitarian crisis in the Holy Land.
The needs around us are great. Our small gifts connect us with the greater Episcopal Church and together we make a difference.
