Opening Ceremony & Keynote Address
|
|
Don't miss the Opening Ceremony and Keynote Address tonight at 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm EDT.
The Keynote Address and recognition of sponsors make the Opening Ceremony one of the highlights of the Convention.
This year's keynote address will be delivered by Susan B Hassmiller, PhD, RN, FAAN, Senior Scholar-In-Residence and Senior Adviser to the President on Nursing at the National Academy of Medicine from January 2019 through August 2021.
Nurse Well-being, Health Equity, and the Future of Nursing
The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a stark toll on the nursing workforce as well as laid bare the health inequities that have long plagued our nation. Nursing students graduating in May will enter the workforce in the midst of a pandemic, many having completed their clinical rotations virtually. Dr. Hassmiller will describe how nurses entering the workforce during the next decade will be part of broader efforts to improve nurse well-being and advance health equity to enable everyone to have a fair and just opportunity for health.
