This year's State Convention was a huge success! We had great giveaways, a full exhibit hall of innovative products and services, and dynamite presenters for our classes.
We had several great classes to choose from this year. Dr. Scott Hainz instructed the Kinesio Taping Express Certification Course. Tina Allen taught presented her Touch Therapy for Liddle Kids. Both provided 20 CEU for these full weekend courses.
Our Multi-Class was very popular! 20 CEU were offered for 3 different courses: Introduction to Thai Yoga Massage, presented by Leah Wilson; Bars-free Seated Ashiatsu, presented by Christy Bebout; and Sports Massage Approac
hes to Treating Foot & Ankle Conditions, presented by Bob McAtee.
We concluded with a very informative 4-hour research-based class presented by Jackie Harding, Ph.D. that was free to attend.
Everyone left with new tools to add to their toolbelt! Many thanks to all our presenters, vendors, and attendees for this year's State Convention!

Your delegates are looking for position statements!
Our delegates are currently developing a position statement for the AMTA stating that massage therapy brings hope for those in chronic pain. It is posited that much of the anxiety and despair of chronic pain is that there appears to be no hope for improvement, and that massage therapy changes that feeling, replacing it with hope and relief.
They are asking for therapists to share their experiences of their clients (confidentially) indicating that they have renewed hope for recovery/improvement of symptoms, and also research or reports that support this, and other benefits.
If you would be interested in helping to develop this or other position statements, please email our delegates at
[email protected].
