Support Standing Rock: Special Offering

Click Here  for information about the UMC ' s support of the Standing Rock Sioux and   affirmation that water is a basic human right. This fall First Church members and friends studied the book, On This Spirit Walk: The Voices of Native American and Indigenous Peoples . The class invites others to join them in offering financial gifts to support relief efforts for those currently in North Dakota protecting the sacred land, the water, and basic freedoms. Offering envelopes will be available in church this Sunday.
Loving Our Neighbors

Many of us are seeking ways to publicly express support for our neighbors. Recently, some folks at a Mennonite church in Indiana created a welcome sign and several have popped up in the Madison area. Some of our members have asked if we could make these yard signs available. We have ordered a supply of signs which sell for $8 per sign. Please contact Rev. Tina Lang to reserve one. Signs should be available for pick up at church by December 11.
