Reflecting, Reviewing & ReNEWing!
2020 has been one for the books! Before we look forward to leaving the pandemic behind us and beginning an exciting new chapter for JAX Refrigeration, Inc., we would like to recognize our JAX Family’s contribution to another successful YEAR!

Operationally, our team has adapted and deftly navigated a plethora of challenges. While COVID devastated countless businesses nationwide, JAX has managed to strengthen and grow. As one of very few specialty contracting businesses that has increased market share and consistently hired throughout the pandemic, JAX has set the stage for an impressive 2021. We have established ourselves with several NEW customers, both general contractors and end users, while maintaining and growing our long-established partnerships and relationships. We are proud and excited about where we stand as a company looking toward the future.

Overall we have achieved our budget goals and steadily improved our operational efficiency, enjoying steady growth and expansion company-wide. We are heading into the new year with a streamlined and dedicated operational staff.
We've moved to our new HQ!
2020 has been another great year here at JAX, both operationally and through our charitable efforts (money raised and hours volunteered). While our ability to host, sponsor and attend charity events decreased due to COVID, our JAX Family has certainly kept our tradition of GIVING alive! We have rolled out several exciting initiatives, which has set the stage for impressive developments to come. JAX has moved into our NEW Headquarters complex, which has brought ALL of our departments closer together for unparalleled collaborative service.
Our Coverage is Expanding!
As we close out 2020, we have over 200 employees working for JAX nationwide. JAX Refrigeration, Inc. holds 50+ Professional Engineering & Contracting Licenses throughout the US & other Foreign Jurisdictions.

Our SEVEN major Industry Departments: JAX Refrigeration, MEAS (Mechanical Engineering and Solutions), JAX Cool, JAX Mechanical, JAX Piping, JAX Ind, and RHVACS (Restaurant HVAC Specialty) work symbiotically to ensure a seamless process from start to finish.
JAX would like to welcome Aaron Pendleton, our new Field Services Supervisor for Refrigeration Service. Following in his father's footsteps, Aaron began his career in ammonia refrigeration a week out of high school. He transitioned into construction as a pipefitter and taught himself to weld. After working 4 years as a welder he decided to switch to service. The decision proved to be a wise one and he was swiftly running calls and manning his own truck in the Cincinnati, OH area for the last 3 years. Aaron is thrilled to join the Jax family and becoming the Field Services Manager in the Ohio area. Welcome to the team, Aaron!
You've probably already heard about how much we believe in our JAX Family, in the quality of our people, their values and hard work that help make our company great. But you don't have to take our word for it, check in here for the latest on what people are saying about us.

Miguel Mendoza (JAX Cool Foreman) has been recognized for his efforts on an
Insulated Metal Panel (IMP) Project in Utah. Keep up the good work, Miguel!

“I just wanted to send a quick note of appreciation for everything that
Miguel has been doing for us… He is doing an amazing job and very easy to
coordinate things with… Please keep him here to the end… Kudos to JAX as a
whole for being such a great partner… Thanks!”

Photos from a recent project for Amazon. The team installed 14-25 Ton roof top units, 5-Roof exhaust fans and 1-Mini Split Condenser which was lifted from the staging area in the parking lot to the roof of the 40' tall structure. We had a total of 16 picks, that were completed in just over 32 minutes. This is an average of 1 pick every 2 minutes!!! Sean Smallwood (Project Superintendent) and his team did a Great job of making this Helicopter a SAFE and Successful Lift. We used AirCrane out of Atlanta Georgia, who were true professionals at what they do!!!

5 Tips to Prep Your HVAC Unit for Winter
In order to keep your HVAC’s heat pump working properly, here are a few tips from us to maximize efficiency, safety, and comfort:

1. Replace the Air Filter
Replacing the air filters all year long is a good habit to improve the health of your HVAC unit. An air filter serves two purposes: keeping particulates and dust out of your HVAC unit as well as filtering the air in your home. Replacing your air filter regularly can drastically prolong the life of your HVAC unit, and using an allergen filter can also improve your indoor air quality. We recommend that you replace your air filter every month for optimum filtering.

2. Clean the Air Ducts
Even with the best filters, the air ducts in your home can collect dust, allergens, mold, and other contaminants throughout the year. When you turn on the heat, these contaminants may react with the heat and their effects can become more severe. Fall is the perfect time to schedule a duct cleaning service to ensure your ducts are ready for the heat.

3. Examine the Belt
Inside your HVAC unit, there is a belt that powers the blower, moving the air through the outdoor compressor. You can check this belt for issues such as cracks or damage. If you see any of these signs, it will need to be replaced. These belts wear down over time, especially in states like Florida, with its high temperatures and prolonged AC use.

4. Inspect the Vents
It’s easy to forget that the vents in your home are an important piece of your HVAC system. Make sure that the vents in your home aren’t blocked by furniture or other items that could obstruct the airflow. Poor airflow to your HVAC unit can cause it to work harder to pump the air, putting unnecessary stress on your unit.

5. Schedule Maintenance
As the winter season approaches, the wisest choice you can make to protect your HVAC unit is to schedule maintenance with a qualified HVAC technician. A technician can inspect all aspects of your unit and knows where to find potential issues that may lead to problems or danger down the line.

JAXCool just completed an interior IMP wall replacement at a peanut roasting facility in Georgia on a shutdown schedule. Cool had 5 days to replace 120 lf of 4” thick 1 hour rated mineral wool insulated metal walls panels with 304 2B stainless steel finish on both sides x 24’ tall. We utilized 12 men x 12-15 hours per day to make this happen. To make things more difficult the only access into the room is through an exterior door 27’ above the ground so we had to put all of our materials including scissor lifts in and out of that door. Job was completed on time and within budget.
Restaurant HVAC Specialty (RHVACS) centers its services on the supply and installation of heating, refrigeration, air conditioning systems and kitchen hood ventilation for restaurants. RHVACS provides economical turnkey designs, and when combined with the full range of industry-related services at JAX Refrigeration, offers comprehensive one-stop service solutions for your entire project.

Our Restaurant HVAC Specialty Team is wrapping up a Culver’s in Venice, FL. RHVACS started this project on 09/08/20 and this Culver’s should be turned over to operations by the middle of December.
