August 2019
From Cool to Cooler!
Take a look behind the scenes at the JAX
headquarters and our plans for the next space.
JAX Refrigeration’s corporate headquarters is located just two blocks from the Atlantic Ocean in Jacksonville Beach.

How our space reflects the message of JAX
The company headquarters echoes JAX Refrigeration’s balance between cutting-edge industry trends and a people-first focus; serving as a visual reminder of the company’s innovation, talent and valued employees.

Coolest Feature
Much of the interior work was designed and crafted by JAX Refrigeration’s fabrication shop employees.

Our Office "Pet"
Fridgie, our mascot, is the face of JAX Refrigeration’s charitable foundation, JAXCares. Fridgie can often be seen out in the community, drawing attention to the good works and worthy causes that JAX Refrigeration staff and families participate in as a way of giving back. Fridgie plush toys are stocked in our lobby and are available, free of charge, to visitors and anyone who requests one, to help raise awareness and inspire others to match JAX Refrigeration’s philanthropic spirit.

  • Stocked kitchen with indoor/outdoor seating

JAX Honors Dreamer, Cammie
Cammie (age 11) was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at the age of five months. Cystic fibrosis is a disease that creates thick sticky mucus build up in the body, making it hard to absorb nutrients and fat while causing breathing difficulties.

JAX sponsored Cammie and hosted a sendoff party on July 16, 2019.

Cammie and her family traveled to San Diego on July 23 for her dream of being a Zookeeper
for the day! She was the youngest zookeeper EVER.

As an additional treat, Cammie and her family were also given tickets to Disneyland and a check for $1,350 for incidentals.

Nathan Riley
Sheet Metal Mechanic
When not at work, Nathan enjoys fishing, spending time with his family and participating in events at his church. Because he enjoys the challenge of working and making things, Nathan believes landing a job at JAX Refrigeration was fate.
Though he loves his job, if he could try another career it would be Marine Biology so he could be closer to the water. Home is Bradenton, FL but one day he’d love to visit Paris, France. He roots for the Cubs and would love to have a Toyota truck. His favorite movie is Casablanca and he loves Easter.
If he could have dinner with anyone dead or alive, he’d choose Teddy Roosevelt.

JAX Safety Talk
Right tool for the job
Tools are a necessary requirement on most job sites, indoors and outdoors. However, hand tools, when used improperly or not kept in good condition, can also result in very serious injuries.

OSHA Construction Standard 1926.301(a) says that employers
shall not issue or permit the use of unsafe hand tools.

OSHA General Industry Standard 1910.242(a) Each employer shall be responsible for the safe condition of tools and equipment used by employees, including tools and equipment which may be furnished by employees.

Employees should be sure that they take good care of their hand tools to avoid injuries. Injuries with tools often take place when employees fail to use them as intended or forget to inspect them before using. Employees should follow safe work practices every time they use their tools.

Hand tools should always be inspected before use. Never use hand tools that are rusted, cracked, warped, splintered, loose, damaged or broken! Hand tools can also pose a risk even when they are not in use if they are not carried, stored, or handled properly.

Tools are essential for the work we perform daily. Take a few seconds to inspect your tools before each use. Before you go to pick up that adjustable wrench to tighten the gauge on that oxygen bottle, stop to think of the damage or harm that you can cause by failing to use “The Right Tool for the Right Job”.

- Robert Mills, Safety Director
