So long Bobby Yoho!
On Friday, May 31, 2019 JAX Refrigeration said goodbye (sort of) to our dear Bobby Yoho of Restaurant HVAC Specialty (RHVACS). Bobby’s 30+ year career in the industry was celebrated with friends, family, co-workers and long time customers, at JAX - RHVACS Headquarters in Brooksville, FL. The group gathered together to show respect and appreciation for Bobby and his many contributions throughout his career.

Bobby has helped to grow and spread the strong reputation of JAX Refrigeration, and although he will continue consulting with RHVACS, his everyday presence will be missed.

Knowing Bobby’s passion and love for music, JAX President, Mark Lowery, surprised Bobby with a certified signed Clint Black guitar.

Of course, Bobby was “roasted” before he was toasted, with plenty of classic stories and memories shared.

In the end, there was laughter, hugs and tears. Bobby will always be a big part of the JAX Family!
Jonathan Marti
from Intern to Senior Project Manager
Jonathan Marti, Senior Project Manager
Jacksonville native, Jonathan Marti has played a major role in JAX Refrigeration’s meteoric rise from startup to industry leader. During 2018, Jonathan assumed the role of Senior Project Manager.
Jonathan joined JAX as an intern, fresh out of the University of North Florida, during the company’s first year of operations. Today, as a seasoned and accomplished Professional Engineer (PE) and active member of ASHRAE, RETA and FCMA, Mr. Marti has become the lead for many of JAX Refrigeration’s key accounts. He was the Project Manager for two Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Excellence in Construction Award winning projects: Eagle Award for CXP Data Center and Pyramid Award for the JAX Refrigeration Office Building.
Speaking of Interns...
JAX has a new summer intern!
Sam Skiles began employment as an intern with JAX Refrigeration on May 22nd. He will be working for the summer with Ed Trotzke in our Refrigeration Department. His interest in engineering came naturally; his father is a civil engineer. Sam is a sophomore at the University of Alabama, majoring in mechanical engineering. He looks forward to learning more about the broad field and hopes to find a specific area of interest to focus on while working with JAX.
Congratulations Ramiro Ramirez!
Ramiro Ramirez, a member of the JAX Cool field Crew since March of 2016, received his United States Citizenship on May 29, 2019. Originally from Mexico, he currently resides in Atlanta with his wife and three daughters.
Ramiro is a valued employee who continually sets the example for his coworkers, with his no-nonsense positive attitude. Congratulations!
JAX Refrigeration ranked #44 in the Orlando Business Journal:
Florida Fast 100
Growth from 2015-2017
The four Florida Business Journal markets got together to determine the Florida Fast 100, which highlights some of the fastest-growing companies in the Sunshine State. In order to qualify for the List, companies must be privately held, for-profit organizations headquartered in Florida, and must have been in business prior to Jan. 1, 2014. The companies must also have had revenue of at least $1 million in 2015 or $5 million in 2017, and demonstrated revenue growth for the three years considered in the calculations.
Data for the List was gathered by the research directors at the Business Journals in Jacksonville, Orlando, South Florida and Tampa Bay. Companies were required to submit documentation to verify the revenue figures.
The companies on the List increased their revenue by a combined $3.6 billion from 2015 to 2017, which represents a combined growth rate of 101.5 percent.
Welcome to the JAX Team!
Blen Young recently joined JAX Refrigeration in the Mechanical Department. Blen has many years of project management experience in several areas of construction. He has a bachelor’s degree in business from Florida State College of Jacksonville. Blen also served in the U.S. Army. He resides in St. Augustine and when he isn’t working he enjoys spending time with his wife and 5 year old son.
Kevin Phillips , a Clemson University graduate, brings 20 years of experience in mechanical contracting to Jax Mechanical. Spending two decades as an estimator has allowed Kevin to become an expert at leading and managing estimating duties and responsibilities within the industry.
He and his wife, Michelle, have been married for 21 years and they have one son. Other than spending time with his family, he loves to travel and watch college football…especially the Clemson Tigers!
You've probably already heard about how much we believe in our JAX Family, in the quality of our people, their values and hard work that help make our company great. But you don't have to take our word for it, check in here for the latest on what people are saying about us.

William Chalk
Sheet Metal Mechanic
Hire Date: 1/4/2017

William joined JAX as a Sheet Metal Mechanic in early 2017. Coming from the residential side of the industry, he immediately liked the change and enjoys his current role.
When not at work, William enjoys fishing and spending his free time with friends and family. Atlantic Beach is William's home but he’d love to visit the Philippines one day. As a true citizen of Duval, he’s a Jaguars fan and loves the Fourth of July! If he could have a meal with anyone, he’d choose his cousin, Pebbles, who passed away last year.

Eye Protection
Your precious eyes are a marvel of engineering. Most of us take them for granted as we do all our senses until an accident, injury, or disease forces us to realize the miracle we lost or almost lost.
Eye protection is required on all job sites when there is a possibility of eye injury. Eye injury is not confined to flying objects. Eye injury can be caused by bright light, dust, chemicals, heat, and literally, anything that can reach the eye. Different dangers require different types of protection. Federal law requires that all prescription glasses be made with impact-resistant lenses. Hardened lenses, through a tempering process, are extremely hard and resistant to impact and breakage. Safety lenses are similar to hardened lenses but are 1 mm thicker. Safety lenses are used in goggles where there is a danger of flying glass or chips of metal. First Aid procedures, per the American Trauma Society, for the three major types of eye injury are:

FOREIGN OBJECT IN THE EYE: Have the victim pull upper eyelid over lower eyelid. Run plain water over open eye. If object does not wash out, cover both eyes with a gauze dressing and seek medical help promptly. DO NOT rub the eye.

WOUND TO THE EYE: Apply loose sterile dressing over both eyes. Seek medical attention immediately. For bruising or “black eye”, a cold compress or ice pack may relieve pain and reduce swelling. DO NOT try to remove any embedded object. DO NOT apply pressure to the eye.

CHEMICAL BURN: Flush immediately with water over open eye for at least 10 minutes
(20 minutes if alkali). It may be necessary to hold patient’s eyelid open. Cover both eyes with sterile dressing. Seek medical attention immediately. DO NOT put anything but water in the eye. Remember, an inexpensive pair of safety glasses can save your priceless eyesight.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
