Long Subaru September 2022 Newsletter
2023 Subaru Ascent
The 2023 Ascent receives a bolder look from a new front fascia incorporating a more prominent grille; redesigned LED headlights; and a more aggressive front bumper cover. The new front bumper cover features new lower-edge air ducts to improve aerodynamic flow under the vehicle. At the back of the vehicle, updated Konoji (C-shaped) taillights further exemplify the SUV’s fresh look for 2023.
Also new for 2023, the Onyx Edition Limited debuts equipped with exclusive black-finish exterior elements, badging, and 20-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, the seats are wrapped in Subaru StarTex® water-repellant material for durability and easy clean up.
Subaru Loves Learning
Field Trip! We hand-delivered lunch for teacher orientation day and then snuck out a second time to present school supply kits and additional donations. Long Subaru partnered with Subaru of America and AdoptAClassroom.Org to adopt 10 classrooms at Park Avenue Elementary this year. Each of our ten winners (nine pictured above with our presentation team) received $500 to spend on their classroom and a lovely curated box of school supplies. Our educators help their students thrive and we’re proud to support them. We had a blast! (and yes, that’s a real working giant pencil)

Great News! Subaru has extended the New Car Battery Warranty for some vehicles within the 2015-2020 model year range. Please come in for a battery check-up prior to replacing the battery through a third-party vendor to see if the cost will be covered and to avoid voiding the warranty.
Our Connecticut Coastline
There are some many options for fun along the CT coast. We're highlighting just a few of our favorites in this newsletter issue.

Niantic, home to lovely small beaches and quaint New England shops including not one but three Book Barn locations. Don't forget to enjoy seafood at the seaside at one of the many options along Main St.
Looking to stay overnight? Check out the local Inn at Harbor Hill Marina for a charming seaside experience with a private balcony. Or travel a little further west to Old Saybrook and stay in the Saybrook Point Marina's Lighthouse Suite (pictured) voted the “Most Romantic Place to Stay” by Connecticut Magazine.
The next day's adventures could include a visit to the Florence Griswold Museum, the late Georgian-style mansion that became home to the Lyme Art Colony. Make time for lunch at the onsite Café Flo and their extraordinary offerings.
Bourbon Apple Blondies
A perfect fall dessert to use those fresh picked apples from one of our local orchards in.

½ cup + 1 Tbsp salted butter, divided
1 cup + 2 Tbsp brown sugar, divided
1 large egg
1 tsp bourbon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
⅛ tsp salt
1 large apple, cut into ¼ inch chunks (Optional: peeled or half and half)
½ cup butterscotch chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8x8 pan with parchment paper. Set aside. Melt 1 Tbsp butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add 2 Tbsp brown sugar and apple pieces. Stir to combine. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes or until apples begin to soften. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. In a medium bowl, melt remaining ½ cup butter. Stir in remaining 1 cup brown sugar.
Whisk in egg and vanilla extract. Working in batches, stir in flour and salt. Mix until just combined. Fold in butterscotch chips and cooled apples. Pour into prepared baking dish. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until bars are set. Let cool completely before cutting.
