Coolidge Emerges as Leading Republican Candidate for Assembly District 3, Nearing $200,000 Raised
Former Chico Mayor Andrew Coolidge today announced he has raised nearly $200,000 in his 2026 campaign for Assembly District 3. Coolidge reported $187,000 raised as of the June 30th fundraising period, with July fundraising bringing his total to nearly $200,000.
In addition to his competitive fundraising haul, Coolidge has consolidated support from elected officials and community leaders from across Assembly District 3. Just a few of Coolidge’s previously announced endorsements include: Oroville Mayor Dave Pittman, Paradise Mayor Steve Crowder, Gridley Mayor Mike Farr, Biggs Mayor Bo Sheppard, Chico Vice Mayor Dale Bennett, Willows Mayor Evan Hutson and dozens of other elected and past elected officials from throughout the district.
Coolidge is the former Mayor of Chico (four years), a former councilmember (four years), and served the community in a wide range of leadership roles prior to taking a seat on the Chico City Council. Chico is the largest city in Assembly District 3, as nearly half the district’s voters live in Butte County where Coolidge is most well-known. Outside of public service, Coolidge has also run a successful business for the last 32 years, with deep ties in the Yuba-Sutter area— the second largest population center in the district.
With his latest fundraising haul and new endorsements, Coolidge has emerged as the leading Republican candidate for Assembly District 3 in 2026.
Coolidge is running for the Assembly District 3 seat currently held by Assemblyman James Gallagher, who is not running for reelection due to term limits. The primary election will be held on June 2nd, 2026.
