FIFTH GRADE SCIENCE ASSESSMENT THIS WEEK
As a reminder, fifth grade students will be taking the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment- Science (NJSLA-S) on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Please ensure students arrive to school on time to avoid make-ups. Information about this assessment is included in the following letter.
SPECIAL EDUCATION DIRECTOR'S PARENT MEETING
The final Special Education Director's Parent Meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday, May 15th at 1:30 p.m. in the Special Services Conference room at Sicomac School.
Please RSVP to Karen Riley at 201-848-5690, ext. 3312.
CLASS PLACEMENT
The placement of children in classes for next year is a significant and important decision. Please be assured that the teachers and I will spend many hours considering your child's placement.
This is a thoughtful and collaborative process whereby many variables are taken into consideration. Your child's present teacher, the reading specialist, the math specialist, the guidance counselor, other staff members and I seek to create heterogeneous classes of equal size at all grade levels.
When class placement decisions are made, they will reflect our best judgment on individual and group needs. Please know that your child and every child at Coolidge School will receive full consideration in determining his/her class placement.
Although we welcome parent feedback regarding information about your children, please understand that making direct requests to teachers puts them in a very difficult position and compromises the process we have put in place.
We trust you understand our position on this matter. Your cooperation and support are greatly appreciated.
MOVING? NOT RETURNING TO COOLIDGE NEXT YEAR?
In order to anticipate enrollment for next school year, please be kind enough to let us know by June 1st if your child(ren) will not be returning to Coolidge School in September. Please contact Carol Gneiding in the Coolidge front office.
CALLING ALL ARTISTS/PAINTERS
Thanks to some final grouting completed by Mrs. Boyle, our mosaic project is just about complete. All that is left is some touch up painting that needs to be completed around each piece. If you are able to volunteer to work on this for us that would be greatly appreciated. Please let us know.
COOLIDGE SCHOOL RECYCLED PLAYGROUND CONTEST
Did you know that Coolidge is in the running to win a Recycled Playground for the upper blacktop? We could use your help! Please follow this link and vote for our school every day through the end of June. We are currently in 5th place! Post this on your social media and email friends and family. If your children have email accounts make sure their vote is submitted daily as well. Every vote counts!
A few tips:
- In the box to enter the school name start typing Wyckoff or 07481 - wait a second for the form to pull up Coolidge School as an option and click on that.
- The first time you vote you must go into your email and click the link to approve the vote. You just have to do this once to prove that you are a real person and not a robot!
