Two weeks from tonight we will be co-sponsoring a meeting about a new homeless shelter at 399 Third Avenue (at the corner of 6th Street). As this article makes clear, unfortunately, unlike in the ULURP process, we don’t even have advisory input. The Department of Homeless Servicesselects operators and sites independent of any community board review. They will, however, inform us about this shelter.
A very interesting art project by the name of “Time Seed” is coming to Thomas Greene Park with the support of many organizations including the Gowanus Canal Conservancy. Big thanks to Joe Anne Brown for putting this on our radar.
A week from tonight the 76th Precinct will be hosting a “Build The Block” meeting at Carroll Park.
