Sports Complex Improvements Public Meeting
On Thursday, February 11, 5:30 p.m., a public meeting will be held at City Hall to discuss capital improvements for the Suellen H. Fardelmann Sports Complex. The sole purpose of this meeting will be to discuss a $246,500 grant application for the Land and Water Conservation Fund Program to help finance improvements to the sports complex.

Teaching Seniors Technology

Several Zoom workshops are available to learn more about working with technology such as smartphones, photos on the cloud, online safety, using social media and streaming services, and more.

Classes begin February 25 at 11 a.m. with a meet and greet at the Cooper City Community Center. Classes through April 8.

AT&T fiber optic cable installation work has begun in Cooper Colony Estates and Flamingo Gardens East & West. Work in Country Address Encore begins February 8.

FPL Pole Hardening Underway
Florida Power & Light & Pike are working on transfers from Stirling Road from Hiatus to Palm Avenue and on 106 Ave from Stirling to Griffin Road.

Flamingo Gardens Road Resurfacing
Public Works will continue the asphalt resurfacing in Flamingo Gardens. Prior to the work beginning, a construction notice will be sent out along with a community meeting to inform the residents what they can expect while the work is underway.

See a pothole, graffiti or beehive, report it through SeeClickFix, an online web application that allows any individual to report non-emergency issues on a map for everyone to see.

The SeeClickFix works as a request and work management system to get the job done.

From your phone, download the free SeeClickFix app and type in Cooper City, FL. To report, it's as easy as taking a photo and submitting. For updates on your service request, you will have to create a log-in.

COVID-19 UPDATES
State of Florida MyVaccine.FL.Gov

Pre-register now for COVID-19 vaccine if you are 65 years and older; live or work in a long-term care facility; are a healthcare worker; or an individual deemed extremely vulnerable to COVID-19. If not currently eligible, you can also sign-up to receive updates.

Broward County Information

The Florida Department of Health in Broward County is having people eligible for COVID-19 shots sign up over the phone. Seniors 65+ and healthcare workers can call 866-201-6313 to request an appointment.

Information on Broward County's COVID-19 vaccination efforts is evolving. Please continue to monitor browardcovidvaccine.com for updates. Check back to their website often as more sites and appointments will be added over the coming days and weeks.

Governor Ron DeSantis signed Executive Order 20-315 which outlines that providers can only administer the COVID-19 vaccine to certain populations.

While vaccinations have begun, COVID-19 cases are on the rise and we must remain vigilant and adhere to the CDC's recommendations. We must prevent the spread.

COVID-19 Testing

COVID-19 testing continues throughout Broward County. Please be aware that some previous testing sites have converted to vaccination sites.

Financial Assistance for Small Businesses Available from the South Florida Regional Planning Council (SFRPC)

The SFRPC established the Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) CARES Act Program to assist small businesses adversely impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Funds from the program may be combined with EIDL, PPP, or State of Florida Bridge Loan Program funds. 

Small businesses may be eligible for loan amounts ranging from $25,000 to $500,000 with a fixed interest rate of three to four percent, for up to 10 years. The funds from the program are NOT grants or forgivable loans.

Consolidation of County Emergency Orders

The Broward County Administrator approved the Comprehensive Emergency Order (CEO), which consolidates all of the County's existing Emergency Orders into one document. The CEO replaces and supersedes all active Emergency Orders issued since March 2020.
