February 2023       Cooper Stallion Star                   Volume 6

     STALLION STAR

A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPALS

Greetings Cooper Families,

It's been a month filled with perseverance, as our students have raced toward the end of the semester! Last week, teachers were able to share our scholars' hard work and celebrate their growth with families during conferences. Report cards will be sent home on or before February 15th. Make sure to be checking backpacks and folders.

Although February is our shortest month, with extra days off, the month will be jam-packed with events and activities! On the 16th, Cooper will be hosting 100 Helping Hands night to celebrate 100 days in school and Black History Month. Families will be able build a garden start, create art and poetry projects, and participate in other 100 Day activities. Dinner will be served starting at 5:30 PM. Our PTO will be hosting a Chief's Night on February 24th. $2.00 of every ticket sold will go back to Cooper Elementary!

Valentine's Day will be celebrated differently by each class. Your scholar's teacher will communicate details for their classroom celebration. We encourage non-food items. Handmade cards, puzzles, stickers, and other little toys make great valentines!

With gratitude,

Katie Stone, Principal

Staci Worth, Principal Assistant

Outdoor Recess Policy

Students will be outside for recess unless the weather is extreme or below 20 degrees. Students may play outside when it is sprinkling. Please send your child with appropriate hats, gloves, coats, etc.

The February Self-manager character trait is Honesty!

Cooper Stallions will be practicing honesty this month. Honesty is telling the truth, doing what you say you are going to do, and being a person others can count on. How can you help your scholar practice honesty at home and school this month?
