Coordinator Roundtables:
Organizing Neighborhood Prayer Walks

“You can’t understand most important things from a distance,
you have to get close.”
Bryan Stevenson, Author, Just Mercy: A story of justice and redemption

Dear Friends,

It has been a pleasure to see many of you for our Coordinator Roundtable sessions and we hope you will continue to join us for these dinner meetings as a way to grow in community while discussing practices for ministry development.

Throughout our diocese many parishes are exploring new ways of engaging or deepening their impact on the wider community. For these reasons, we have decided to focus this next Roundtable on the topic of Neighborhood Prayer Walks .

A prayer walk is not street evangelization. It is a contemplative practice of walking in pairs in prayerful silence mindfully attending to your surroundings and prompting of the Spirit to discover where Jesus may be calling the faith community to engage and enter the life of the wider community as a sign of hope by identifying an unmet or unrecognized need.

To help make it easier for more of you to join us, this Roundtable will be held in three locations.

Click on the date for more information or to register:

St. Ann’s Episcopal Church, Sayville

Mercer School of Theology, Garden City

Christ Church, Bay Ridge Brooklyn

We hope you can join us!
