TBS Presents Cootes Paradise Video Premier tomorrow, Thursday, June 18th at 5pm on TBS Facebook Page . Shot at Hugh’s Room Live and drawn from their soon to be released album “Downstream”, the live version of “The First Time”, the video premier will be followed by a virtual interview of the band by DJ Ken Wallis.

“Downstream” is planned for release later this summer, and gives the 2019 New Artist/Band of the Year Maple Blues Award Nominee, Cootes Paradise, the chance to show off their live performance chops to both existing fans, and potential new devotees who may discover what they’ve missed in the almost five years the band has been together.

Cootes Paradise are: Amy Di Nino (drums), Wayne Krawchuk (guitar/vocals), Sue Leonard (vocals), Lily Sazz (keys), Ian Taylor (bass), Mark Volkov (violin, flute, and sax).

Join Downchild for Their Historic 40th Anniversary Massey Hall Show
Join Downchild Blues Band this Sunday on Father’s Day for a free live concert! The band will be streaming their historic 40th anniversary show “Live at Massey Hall” in its entirety with special guests Dan Aykroyd , Colin James , James Cotton , Colin Linden , Jonas Tomalty and Wayne Jackson of The Memphis Horns for a roaring night of Blues. Tune in to Downchild's official Youtube page on June 21 at 7:00pm (EST) to watch it live.

The stream will also raise funds in support of the Unison Benevolent Fund and donations can be made during the concert by texting UNISON to 45678 or visiting their website . All donations made to Unison will be matched by Spotify as part of the Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief project that has been created to amplify the efforts of organizations that focus on helping those most in need, like the Unison Benevolent Fund.
Guitar Workshop Back on June 27th...Virtually!
The Toronto Blues Society’s popular Guitar Workshop is back...virtually! The workshop will be hosted by guitarist Jack de Keyzer . This year's guitar masters are: Suzie Vinnick , Madagascar Slim, and Fraser Melvin .

Workshop will be live streamed on The Toronto Blues Society Facebook page and will be followed by a 30min live Q&A.

Maple Blues Awards Is Going Online in 2021

Toronto Blues Society's annual national awards show Maple Blues Awards is going virtual on its next edition which will take place on Monday, February 1, 2021 . The Board of TBS has been faced with the difficult decision considering the ongoing pandemic. The public voting will still take place during the month of November 2020 and the winners will be announced during the online awards show on February 1, 2021.
Musicians! Promote Your New Albums!
Please make sure to mail and promote your new albums to the MBA Nominating Panel until the end of September. While our Panel is consisted of 62 members who are required to be familiar with Canadian blues artist activity and CD releases, artists are encouraged to service new releases to increase their national profile. The list of the Panel members can be found on our website with a link to their organizations. Please note, albums should be released during the eligibility period:  September 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020 .
Virtual JUNOS

Following the cancellation of the 49th annual JUNO Awards in Saskatoon due to COVID-19, winners will now be announced across all 42 categories during a virtual event Monday, June 29 at 7pm (EST) on the free  CBC Gem  streaming service, CBC Music’s  Facebook YouTube  and  Twitter pages, and for audiences around the world at . Award presenters include Shoshona Kish of Digging Roots, tand our past Women's Blues Revue hostess Angeline Tetteh-Wayoe from CBC Music.

Music Canada has partnered with ABACUS Data to get artists’ perspectives on returning to work during the COVID-19 recovery phase.
