Mayor Mays To Seek Reelection

Press Release

Coppell Mayor Wes Mays has announced that he plans to file to run again as Mayor for the City of Coppell.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve the citizens of Coppell on the City Council and as their Mayor for the last 3 years. I believe that my demonstrated performance is reason for me to continue serving as Mayor. After thought, prayer, and much discussion, I have decided to seek that office for a second term,” said Mays.

With more than 40 years of experience of engineering and management, Mays is very proud of the State of the City of Coppell and believes that with strategic planning, thoughtful leadership, and careful execution, the city will be able to continue to provide the high level of service that the citizens of Coppell expect.

“We certainly have faced challenges but the success of the city demonstrates that we have found ways to ensure that Coppell remains a great place to live, work, and play. We have had some issues over the past few years with changes in our ability to collect some of our existing revenues, but we have weathered those challenges and have a strong future ahead of us. We have the lowest tax rate since before 1984; I am very pleased with the stewardship that we have practiced. We must continue to manage our city with that same diligence,” Mays said.
