COPPERLINE: TRIBUTE TO JAMES TAYLOR TO PERFORM AT THE BOULTON CENTER TO BENEFIT LONG ISLAND CARES - SATURDAY, AUGUST 25
The music of James Taylor will fill the YMCA Boulton Center on Saturday evening, August 25 as Copperline takes to the stage for an evening of Taylor classics to benefit Long Island Cares, Inc.-The Harry Chapin Food Bank. This special show is being produced by Norman Vincent Productions, who has worked with other artists to support Long Island Cares.
According to Vincent, "Back when singer songwriters were coming to the forefront in the music industry, James Taylor and Harry Chapin were always involved with socially conscious issues. Along with lyrics that made us think about problems that existed they also acted on their beliefs. Not too many people know that Harry and James along with other artists formed a not-for -profit organization called The Food Policy Center, which was a lobbying group that monitored the President's Commission on World Hunger of which Harry was a member. Our band, Copperline: A Tribute to James Taylor is very honored to be an extension of those beliefs. We are very excited to be working with Long Island Cares for the betterment of the world around us."
"We're very grateful for the support and generosity of Copperline in performing to benefit Long Island Cares," said Paule Pachter, Executive Director. "Musicians and performers have historically embraced important social causes and certainly many musicians on Long Island have been very supportive of Long Island Cares. We're looking forward to participating in this special concert and hope that many people will come out for a great night of music to benefit the regional food bank."
The YMCA Boulton Center is located at 37 West Main Street in Bay Shore. To purchase tickets please call (631) 366-2672 or visit www.copperlineband.com
