This Week in Westville is your go-to source for news, events, activities and goings-on in the Westville community. Like NPR and other user-supported media, much of our operations rely on the support of our "local listeners" - you, the reader. In order for the Westville Village Renaissance Alliance to continue providing this valuable community service, we ask you to donate or join WVRA as a Village Person today! Beyond the e-news, WVRA is working every day to make Westville a brighter, safer, more vibrant place to be. NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS
THE WELL FOR WOMEN AMPLIFYING AAPI WOMEN'S VOICES
"The Atlanta spa shooting happened just one mile from our founder Julie Robbins' first massage practice, so this tragedy has really hit home for us. We ask you to join us in supporting the National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum, an organization dedicated to amplifying AAPI women's voices, and eradicating hate and bigotry towards Asian American women. We want to be part of the efforts to prevent it from happening again - in Atlanta, GA, in New Haven, CT, or anywhere. Please join us in raising funds for a cause that is so close to our hearts!" Julie Robbins, Founder and CEO of The Well For Women. Click HERE to donate to their GoFundMe.

JURIED ART SHOW: THREE 500$ PRIZES AWARDED!
Attention all artists: Three $500 prizes will be awarded in our 5th Annual Juried Show "Our DNA"! Open Call to Artists. Deadline: Sunday, May 16. All media welcome. Visit link in bio for submission details and full prospectus We humans are biological siblings, belonging to the genus Homo and, as Sapiens, the last surviving species of our genus. The last year spoke loudly of division and differences, but for this exhibit we ask you as artists to focus on our 99.9% shared genome. Using any tools or languages, explore the belief systems and vocabularies of our family tree that touch on our common destiny and collective value. Remind us who we are. Explain us to ourselves. Reveal something of our common physical or metaphorical DNA, our essential humanity, the soul of the Sapien. FULL DETAILS CLICK HERE
