September Maintenance Guidelines
 
After years of working in the industry and building a nursery business around Oklahoma's inclement weather, we are suggesting the following maintenance guidelines:
 
* Plant your container and     evergreen trees. 

* Select your deciduous B & B (ball and burlap) trees for fall/winter planting.

*  Last nitrogen fertilizer application of the year on warm-season grasses should be applied no later than September 15.

* Apply ferti-lome F-STOP for brown patch disease for fescue grass.

Featured Shrub
This broadleaf evergreen shrub is one of our favorites. Its foliage is green and bronze turning a brilliant red in the fall and winter. This moderate to fast growing shrub has year-round interest. You can plant this shrub in most landscape settings.  
Featured Annual
 Not only is this plant great for giving you fall color, it's also edible and helps lower your cholesterol levels. These plants can survive most Oklahoma winters and look great nestled among our fall pansies. 
Featured Perennial
This Marcum grown perennial is Oklahoma heat and drought tolerate. It showcases many tubular, blue or purple, petunia-like flowers on dark stems. These showy flowers are disease resistant and attracts butterflies.

Melissa joined our Marcum's Nursery family six years ago. She brought her banana bread to our Christmas employee breakfast and it's now on the "you have to bring" list.

Melissa loves volunteering for her children's school and the relief efforts initiated by the 2013 Moore tornado.
