Craig Leen
City Attorney Craig Leen Receives Amicus Award

The Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers presented our City Attorney Craig Leen with the inaugural Julie Kay Amicus Award at their 34th annual Judicial Reception. The recognition was presented to him for bringing attention to critical issues affecting women attorneys. Leen sponsored a rule of procedure that would require the granting of a continuance for an attorney taking parental leave, except in extraordinary circumstances. The proposal came out of his concern that female attorneys are often forced to give up their cases to fellow attorneys when having a baby.
