Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Diocese,
This week, I was humbled to be elected as the Chairman of the Board (Designee) of the American Anglican Council (AAC), to be instituted as Chairman in October of this year. Many of you are familiar with the work and ministry of the American Anglican Council. This year, the Council celebrates its 30th Anniversary. For decades, the AAC has served the movement of faithful Orthodox Anglicanism in the United States and around the world. Her mission statement is:
The mission of the American Anglican Council is to come alongside Anglican churches to cultivate healthy leaders, equip healthy congregations, and support healthy governance for the good of the Church at every level. We believe health looks like wholeness — leaders and churches living in alignment with the purposes for which they were created. Because local churches are the primary means by which God renews the world, we focus on resourcing leaders who are faithful, courageous, and resilient, so that Anglican churches can remain rooted in their biblical and apostolic foundations while boldly fulfilling Christ’s Great Commission. Our vision is a renewed Anglican Church, marked by healthy leaders, flourishing congregations, and faithful governance, bearing witness to Christ in every place God has called it.
The Council’s Board (made up of 10 Laity, 10 Clergy and 10 Bishops) is a wonderful and gifted groups of brothers and sisters, and is active in the leadership of the Council’s Mission. I am thankful for their trust in me and I look forward to experiencing what God has in store for us in the years ahead.
