Some may find it a bit of a surprise at just how difficult it was for me to design and create an engagement ring for my sweetie. I have designed many engagement rings over the years and educated many clients on the difference between a rare gemstone and a diamond. I kept thinking this ring should be over-the-top somehow. A towering statement clustered with diamonds and bling! . But then realized Meredith and I are actually quite conservative and humble. Our passion tends to lie in the more unique, hard-to-find gemstones of exceptional color.. Realizing that, I now just needed the perfect stone and design.
Rarity can pertain to many things. True love is rare. Gemstones are as well.
I needed a rare colored gemstone. Something that epitomizes the beauty of finding that rare individual that you are intended to be with. Something as rare and special as Meredith is, my soon-to-be wife. Trust me, it was a challenge to find the perfect gemstone.
How do you find one to suit someone so special? Someone so unique and individualistic?
I finally found it. And without realizing the connection, I chose a “Mere”lani garnet for “Mere”dith (as she later pointed out).So
And I dare say, you will probably never see another one in Charleston. Just as I will never again meet another woman like Meredith. So maybe I did okay?
She loves the ring..
and she said
"YES"
