January 2018
Welcome to the newest edition of the Cornerstones enewsletter. The BACnet International community benefits from information and education shared through Cornerstones, the organization's monthly electronic publication. This publication is disseminated to members of the BACnet community, connecting corporate, integrator, site, student and individual end users.

Cornerstones is a unique publication because it speaks not only to the engineer and contractor communities, but also to facility professionals, building managers and owners, and other personnel.

This is where you come in. We need you to connect! If there is a best practice, company news, product news or BACnet Success Story you want to share, please send them to us. And don't leave out the photos!

All submissions should be sent to Kathleen Magee, BACnet International's Marketing Manager.

Find the Gold Stars for a Chance to Win a Set of Bose Headphones

We are conducting a contest during the AHR Expo for a chance to win a pair of headphones. The contest includes a scavenger hunt on The BACnet Institute e-learning site.*

Postcards were mailed out to a group of show attendees over the past week with the entry form included. If you did not receive a postcard in the mail, and will be attending the AHR Expo, fear not! We will have blank entry cards at the BACnet International booth for you to complete.

In order to be eligible, you must find the three gold stars hidden on The BACnet Institute website and note the names of each image in the star on the postcard. We will have monitors at the booth for those wanting to enter the drawing but unable to complete this ahead of time.

New Course - Coming Soon!
Following the positive feedback of its BACnet Basics course, as well as the resounding request for more courses, The BACnet Institute is proud to announce the coming release of its new course: The Facility Manager's Guide to Building Automation Systems (BAS).
This new course provides insight on how Facility Managers can effectively participate in and contribute to a BACnet-based BAS integration. While the course is positioned from a Facility Manager's perspective, it is still a valuable resource for the other key professionals in the BAS integration process, including Building Owners, Contractors, Project Consultants, and even IT professionals.
By taking the course, you will get a stronger understanding of the key principles of BAS design and procurement, ensuring integration achieves required results. In addition, the course discusses the importance of collaboration between Facility Management and IT with a focus on how the relationship can be leveraged effectively in order to maintain long-term success. Lastly, the course explains how a BAS design model enables streamlined facilities, thereby ensuring adaptability to future opportunities.
Like the current BACnet Basics course, this new course will be on-demand and self-paced so you can access it at anytime, anywhere. And it is free!
