Greetings Parents and Families of Steubenville High School,

I want to wish all of you good health and safety. The Coronavirus has forced us all to change our daily lives in ways we never imagined. And while we are contained to Social Distancing, looking out for the well-being of each other should still be our top priority. Many people will need help medically as well as financially. Now more than ever, we must work together to get through this crisis.

The closure of schools has forced us into blizzard bags/paper packets and online instruction. We are adding Zoom video conferences to replicate "face to face" interactions.

Every SHS student has a school email account. They were issued their emails username and password in their English classes.

Student school email accounts – rollred.net (Google Account) ex.  [email protected]

We are going to continue to use the following to interact with the students and collect school work.
  1. Virtual Classroom (ESC) linked to ProgressBook
  2. Google Classroom
  3. Blackboard
  4. Flipgrid

We are going to have Zoom office hours to directly assist students (See below). Teachers are also posting assignment grades in ProgressBook. This gives you an opportunity to monitor your child's progress as if they were still in school. And while nothing can replace the daily face to face interactions of a normal school day, we are doing our very best to develop quality instruction for your child.

Each department has designated times (see below). Office hours are listed for students to contact teachers in the following dept.
  • Social Studies 10:00 am – 10:45 am
  • Math 10:45 am – 11:30 pm
  • Science 11:30 pm – 12:15 pm
  • ELA 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm
  • Misc. Classes 12:45 pm – 1:30 pm (Fine Arts, CTE, PE)

You can also email your son/daughter's teacher anytime. Their emails are listed in the section below.

This email is also a reminder students should be working on their school packets. Those packets will be due to the Main Office the week of April 14th. In the event that the school closings are extended by the Governor, new online assignments and new packets will be available for pick-up at the same time. Please remember that all school packets will be graded and recorded by the teacher. It is essential that students are encouraged to complete the school work included in the packet. Our teachers are busy setting up Zoom accounts in order to video conference with parents and students. Students have to watch for an invitation to join in their school email accounts.

Activities for the rest of the school are still uncertain. We will make decisions based on how things unfold as we receive direction from the Governor.

Musical 'Newsies' - tentative new date – April 30, May 1,2,3
Spring Sports - TBD
Prom – April 25
Graduation - May 27

We are still planning for registration of classes for 2020-2021 school year. We will email schedule request forms to parents along with curricular requirements to graduate. We will use a Zoom conference with students as needed for questions/concerns (by grade level and with designated counseling advisor).
Students complete course requests online, the guidance department reviews all requests before batching schedule (as we typically do).

Thank you for your constant support, and as always...  GO BIG RED!
