Telecommuting in the Time of COVID-19

If you received approval from your supervisor to telecommute during the COVID-19 outbreak, please read the following carefully. As part of the organization’s response to the state of emergency, AltaMed is allowing employees, where appropriate, to telecommute on a temporary basis. Telecommuting allows employees to work remotely (i.e., from home). This will ensure continuity of critical business activities. Leaders must approve before employees are allowed to work from home, and must review the Telecommuting Guidelines, Telecommuting Checklist, and Cell Phone Allowance Guidelines (if applicable) with employees.

To ensure information security, all employees working remotely must use their AltaMed authorized devices and refrain from using personal laptops, desktops, or tablets for business. In limited cases and with the approval of the Chief Information Officer and Chief Operating Officer, use of personal devices may be approved.

To continue to support leaders and staff, employees can now access the Telecommuting Tool Kit on Town Square. The tool kit includes:
  • Steps for telecommuting
  • Information security guidelines
  • Tips on maintaining productivity
  • Job aids on how to use Duo, VPN, WebEx, call forwarding, MaaS360, and how to reset your network password

The tool kit will continue to be updated with additional resources.

Please reach out directly to your supervisor in connection with any questions related to telecommuting.
