During the COVID-19 vaccination administration period, we will email updates to employees as more information becomes available. Please be alert to communications from your center managers, clinic administrators, site medical directors, department managers/leaders, and Employee Health, including emails, memos, newsletters, department huddles and/or cell phone text messages.

We welcome your questions, suggestions and input. We do review each question and respond appropriately, so please continue to email us—click here. Know that this is a safe space and most questions will be answered individually prior to being shared anonymously with staff.

New Tier Now Eligible to Receive Vaccines

Starting Monday, March 1, AltaMed will actively be scheduling patients in the new tier. Patients can call the AltaMed Vaccine Hotline (888) 909-5232 to schedule their appointment. We can also answer transportation questions.

AltaMed continues to provide vaccines to patients aged 65 and older at:
  • AltaMed Medical and Dental Group–Anaheim
  • AltaMed Medical Group–Pico Rivera, Passons (once a week, every Thursday)
  • AltaMed Medical Group–Huntington Park (once a week, every Monday)

Orange County
  • Starting Monday, March 1, Orange County will expand vaccination eligibility to include education; food service, grocery and agriculture workers; child care providers; and emergency services personnel.
  • Our AltaMed vaccination site in Anaheim will align with this expansion and provide vaccines to patients and non-patients in this new tier.
  • Visit the Orange County Health Care Agency website for eligibility updates.

Los Angeles County
  • Los Angeles County is also offering vaccines in March to certain essential workers, including those in education; child care providers; emergency services personnel; and those in the food and agriculture sectors.
  • Our vaccination sites in Los Angeles have a limited supply of vaccines and are still focusing on vaccinating patients aged 65 and over only.

Six AltaMed Pharmacies to Provide Vaccines

Beginning Monday, March 1, six AltaMed pharmacies will offer vaccines to our patients. Patients can call the AltaMed Vaccine Hotline at (888) 909-5232 to make an appointment. The pharmacies offering the vaccines are:

  1. AltaMed Pharmacy–Santa Ana, Bristol
  2. AltaMed Pharmacy–Garden Grove
  3. AltaMed Pharmacy–Pico, Passons
  4. AltaMed Pharmacy–Huntington Park
  5. AltaMed Pharmacy–Commerce
  6. AltaMed Pharmacy–Boyle Heights
 
AltaMed is one of five FQHCs in California selected to participate in a HRSA pilot program to provide vaccines straight from the federal government. 
Employee Vaccinations Continue

Dose 2 Vaccination Appointments
  • For employees who received the first dose of the vaccine on Friday, February 19, the second dose appointment was automatically scheduled for Friday, March 12 at our Anaheim clinic.
  • You will receive a text and/or email reminder before your appointment. Please remember to:
  • Work with your supervisor to ensure your availability.
  • Wear short sleeves.
  • Do not carpool with your colleagues. 
  • Bring your vaccination card with you.

#OneShotAtATime
  • Share your vaccination experience on social media, and tag us in your posts and stories so we can share them. Refer to the Employee Social Media Guide which provides detailed instructions on how you can share your story.
Employees Must Follow Safety Guidelines At All TimesEven After Getting the Vaccine

  1. Wear your masksFace masks are to be worn at all times over your nose and mouth (except when drinking or eating), and should be stored properly or discarded. Patients need to wear masks at all times in examination rooms as well.
  2. Maintain hand hygieneStaff should have easy access to hand sanitizer dispensers to clean hands frequently, and should wash hands for 20 seconds at a time.
  3. Practice physical distancingStay six feet apart from other individuals whether inside or outside.
  4. Wipe down any work surfaces you touch.
  5. Patient-facing staff, including front office if no plexiglass barrier is used, should wear a face shield or eye covering in addition to a face mask—avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  6. Employees must wear appropriate PPE when on site.
