Living with COVID-19

As more of California reopens, we are learning how to live with COVID-19. This is our "new normal" and we have to adjust accordingly. We also must remember to continue our safety practices, such as wearing a mask at all times, maintaining our physical distance, washing our hands regularly, and keeping our work surfaces clean.

At AltaMed, we want to reassure our staff, patients and communities of our efforts to reinforce the importance of working and caring in a safe and protective environment. We are continually looking at how we work and how to improve our processes, including our physical space and screening procedures.

We want to assure you that the safety and well-being of our staff remains our top priority. As a reminder, we have several resources provided by the Human Resources and Benefits teams that are available on Town Square to help with self-preservation and self-care. We encourage you to access these resouces.
Continuing Our Safety Practices

We remind you to continue following the safe practices below. It is everyone's responsibility to adhere to these protocols to ensure the safety of our staff and patients.
  • Patient-facing staff, including front office, should wear a face shield or eye covering in addition to a face mask – avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Face masks should be worn at all times over your nose and mouth (except when drinking or eating), and should be stored properly or discarded.
  • Employees must wear appropriate PPE when on site.
  • Maintain hand hygiene – all staff should have easy access to hand sanitizer dispensers to clean hands frequently, and should be washing hands for 20 seconds at a time.
  • Practice social distancing – six feet apart from other individuals whether inside or outside.
  • Wipe down any work surfaces you touch.
