Updates from Dr. Sherrill Brown

Please refer to today's notes for detailed information from Dr. Brown.

Please note:
  • If a patient screens positive for COVID-19, alert your team to bring the patient into an isolation room.
  • If you are exposed to COVID-19 or are feeling ill, please stay home.

Currently, we have three testing and evaluation centers open in Los Angeles County:
  • AltaMed Medical and Dental Group–West Covina
  • AltaMed Medical and Dental Group–Commerce, Goodrich
  • AltaMed Medical and Dental Group–South Gate

All patients must first visit the Los Angeles County COVID-19 testing websi te to sign up for an appointment. Providers should review each patient’s medical, surgical, family and social histories at every visit.

We also have two testing and evaluation centers open in Orange County:
  • AltaMed Medical Group–Santa Ana, Bristol
  • AltaMed Medical and Dental Group–Anaheim

These testing sites are generally for symptomatic patients only. Optum testing sites will test asymptomatic patients.
  • The information on which sites are testing asymptomatic and non-symptomatic patients will be provided to all providers and clinic leaders.
  • For staff, please document all exposures appropriately and use the appropriate diagnosis code.
  • Support staff should schedule patients accordingly for the Orange County testing sites–as a nurse visit if patients are coming in for a swab; as a provider visit if the patient needs an evaluation.
