PPE and Supplies

Every day, AltaMed is proactively working on our COVID-19 preparedness and response. We have multiple teams (both clinical and non-clinical) in place to address and respond to this pandemic. One of our key teams is our Supply Chain and Purchasing Department. From the start of this pandemic, they have been working with our existing vendors and finding new sources to secure supplies, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Currently, we have enough PPE to last well past this summer and are looking ahead and anticipating future supply needs. We are continually doing our best to plan for our “new normal” and ensure that we conduct our work in a safe manner.

As a reminder:
  • Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

  • Check the FAQs in the COVID-19 alert regularly – your question may have already been answered.

  •  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Infection Prevention:
  • Sherrill Brown, M.D., Medical Director, at (323) 313-3954
  • Darlene Dickens-Jeffers, Supervisor, at (323) 516-2112
Changing Times

We are all living through fast-changing times, both outside and inside our AltaMed family. Dr. Sherrill Brown shared two inspiring quotes this morning please feel free to share them with your staff and colleagues. Now, more than ever, w e must continue to work together and support eachother.

"Change must happen in order for things to improve."
–  James Brown (Dr. Brown’s father)

"People are always telling you that change is a good thing. But all they're really saying is that something you didn't want to happen at all... has happened.”
