AS YOUR FRIEND, NEIGHBOR, MAYOR
I AM BEGGING YOU

STOP GOING OUT FOR NON-ESSENTIAL ACTIVITIES

YOU CAN SAVE SOMEONE’S GRANDMOTHER
I am going to share this not because I want to inspire a personal response.

I SHARE SO PEOPLE WILL STOP AND THINK
BEFORE LEAVING HOME

Yesterday morning, I found out COVID-19 touched my extended family. The mother of a member of my extended family, the grandmother to my nephews and nieces, was admitted to ICU in another state.
She was Covid-19+.

Her son could not travel from South Florida to visit her
and hold her hand.

Yesterday afternoon she died.

Heartbreaking.

COVID-19 is real.

If you do NOT absolutely need to go out
or are a not hero serving our community
or keeping our community moving forward, please …

STAY HOME.

And, tell everyone around you to do the same!
ESSENTIAL STORES BEG YOU
HELP THEM HELP THE WORLD

  • Businesses may be essential, but NOT all shopping is essential in that moment. ASK YOURSELF – DO I REALLY NEED IT NOW?

  • Minimize your trips.

  • Prepare a shopping list before you go so you minimize your wandering around stores.

  • Essential shopping IS NOT a family outing.

  • Send only one person if possible. More people create more sanitizing efforts and increase likelihood of exposures.

  • Bring your own sanitizing products if you can so you can better certain you will be able to take steps to protect yourself and the community.
