Small Business Owner's Guide to the CARES Act
To help small business owners and entrepreneurs better understand the new programs that will soon be available to them, the US Senate Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship has created a comprehensive guide to many of the small business provisions in the  Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act  that was just passed by Congress.

Pennsylvania Updates
Commonwealth Financing Authority Loans
The COVID-19 Working Capital Access (CWCA) Program is administered by the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) and provides critical working capital financing to small businesses located within the Commonwealth that are adversely impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Any for-profit businesses located in PA and with 100 or fewer employees worldwide are eligible to apply.
The Enterprise Center Capital Corporation Loan
The Enterprise Center Capital Corporation (TEC-CC) offers both microloans and traditional small business loans of up to $500,000 . Microloan applications are reviewed and approved by the internal loan review committee, which is composed of TEC staff members. 

To be considered for a loan to support your business through COVID-19, please fill out the loan inquiry form.

Delaware Updates
Governor Carney Issues Stay-At-Home Order and Closure of All Non-Essential Businesse s
Governor Carney has issued two orders for Delawareans:

  1.  All non-essential businesses Delaware are ordered to close. 
  2.  All Delawareans are to stay at home whenever possible, subject to Governor Carney’s stay-at-home order issued Sunday night. 
 
The orders went into effect Tuesday, March 24th. They will remain in effect until May 15 or until the public health threat is eliminated.

Delaware employers with questions about how they may be impacted can email covid19faq@delaware.gov , or call 302-577-8477 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
New Jersey Updates
New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) has created the Small Business Emergency Assistance Loan Program. The  $10 million program will make direct low-cost financing available  to allow New Jersey small businesses and non-profits to cover operating expenses and ensure continuity of operations during the outbreak.

Applications are anticipated to open this week. To see whether you might qualify for this program, use the NJ COVID-19 Business Support Eligibility Wizard .

What does this mean for client interactions? WBEC-East has created this forum for you to discuss these burning questions with other business owners.

Throughout the course of this online event, WBEs will be broken out into small discussion groups of no more than 10 individuals. This event is intended to be a safe space for business owners to share their concerns and seek feedback and best practices from each other.
