Support local restaurants –
order take out or delivery.
Yesterday, we had to take drastic steps to protect the public health of our community, state and nation. These steps had a direct, immediate and painful impact on our Sunrise family, friends and neighbors.
But, I am so proud of the restaurants and bars and all the other businesses who voluntarily complied for the better of the entire community.
I am so proud of so many of you who have already reached out to ask how you can help those displaced.
We will be taking you up on your offers as we get organized for relief and resiliency.
In the meantime, support our local businesses with strategies to show our support.
We will be sending out a list of Sunrise restaurants that are providing take-out and delivery. Watch for that information.
Social distancing doesn't mean disconnect
This is a very challenging time.
Our normal methods for socializing are disrupted. For some, the disruption has real economic consequences making it all the harder.
Let’s make sure we find new ways to connect with each other.
Maybe send a positive message to old friends you haven't spoken to in a while, re-connect through calls, video chat, or just simply wave to a neighbor you haven't seen in some time.
I have noticed so many people out walking and waiving to each other. Seems the entire community is running or biking.
Don't forget your own personal health.
Between ordering in, take out, my own food if we don’t find a way to “get moving” we will put my own health at risk. I know I am having to take personal steps.
Some suggest virtual methods to inspire us to breathe!
Sunrise is planning to be able to address community needs in unprecedented methods. Watch for those efforts.
