YOU CAN BE A SUPER HERO BY
STAYING HOME
HOW TO BE A SUPERHERO

We are NOT isolated but we MUST stay home if you can.

We are seeing a patchwork of public health decisions to address this evolving national crisis.

We know what we must do. It is hard. It is painful in the immediate and uncertain future.

We have duties:
Protect the most vulnerable by staying home.
Protect our hospital system from becoming overwhelmed by staying home.
Protect our First Responders by staying home

You can be a hero by staying home

As I heard someone say:

“If the healthy and optimistic refuse to act, they will doom the vulnerable”
 *
“Saving the world by staying home and watching TV seems silly”
 *
“If we do this right, nothing bad happens … and some will say it was all for nothing.
*
Let’s hope we have to deal with criticism.”

IDEAS ON HOW TO BE A SUPERHERO
Do NOT go visit friends at risk.
BUT PLEASE CALL OR VIDEO THEM … A LOT!

As others have said, it is hard to not go visit some people, even in our family. Families are setting rules who can go visit the most vulnerable.

We fear about isolation they feel.
Find other ways to connect if you want to save their lives.

I get it – it’s hard. Our usual methods to relieve stress of hurricanes now are dangerous – concerts, sports, gathering in community centers, going out to eat and visit our favorite pub.

But I am so impressed at some of the great ideas to blunt this and stay connected.

Enjoy cooking with others? Video link with friends.

Like sharing ideas about book? Read a book with someone by phone or video.

Miss having movie night? Link up and put the same movie on at the same time together.

Take a dance lesson from home.

Remember that instrument in the closet or under the bed? Take a lesson on line.

Wanna volunteer? We are working on ways to do that from home.
But you can research on how to buddy-up from home with those who need hear your voice and see your face.

I can tell you – I worry that I not be able to fit in my clothes if this goes on!

Push Up Challenge: 100 a day even in small increments and increase

Set step targets (some guy ran a marathon on his balcony??)

Never a wrong time for me to start moving.

So many great ideas out there!

NEED HELP?
We are hearing about a variety of Federal financial relief programs for businesses, employees and residents.

I will admit – it is like trying to take a sip of water from a fire hose.

But, we are working on getting details and creating systems to get you information.

Be patient with us please and know we are here to help.

But, if you need immediate help, contact us – WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!

In the meantime, keep sending your ideas, suggestions and concerns. I have received some wonderful ideas.
