THE NEW STAY AT HOME ORDER

The Sunrise Safer at Home Order
went into effect at 12:01 am today!

You Can:
  • Go to the grocery, convenience or hardware store
  • Go to the pharmacy
  • Visit a healthcare professional for medical services that cannot be provided virtually (call first for tele-health options)
  • Go to a restaurant for take-out or drive-thru service
  • Get gas for your vehicle
  • Go to the bank or financial institution
  • Provide support for a family member or friend
  • Take a walk, ride your bike, jog and be outdoors for exercise – while maintaining at least six feet between you and others
  • Walk your pets, take them to the veterinarian, or provide other animal care
  • Go to work if your job is considered “essential” – such as supermarket and restaurant staff, people who conduct repair work, first responders, and government and medical personnel.

You May Not:
  • Travel unless you are providing essential services as defined by the Safer at Home Order
  • Visit friends and family if there is not an urgent need
  • Maintain less than six feet of distance from others when you go out
  • Visit loved ones in the hospital, nursing home, skilled nursery facility or other residential care facility (the facility will note any exceptions)
  • Gather in groups of 10 or more persons in a public area except as provided for in the Order.

Is this complicated? Nah ….

Here is a way to simple way to make a decision
when wondering should you stay home.

Print this out and put it on your door so you can read before you go out.
KNOW YOUR OBLIGATIONS AND WHAT IS PERMISSIBLE

FREE GUEST PASS TO VIRTUAL PARTY
TONIGHT 7:00 PM

FREEDOM FLIGHT SOUTH FLORIDA

This crisis has caused all sorts of cancellations.

One involved the volunteer and free flights
escorting our senior veterans to Washington, D.C.
to tour the service monuments dedicated to
the sacrifice of our veteran heroes from service and wars past.

I have made a similar trip with a companion veteran, Ben (who is a hero to me) and it is a life-altering experience.

THINK OF OUR HEROES OF THE PAST AND PRESENT WHEN YOU ARE ASKED TO SACRIFICE AND STAY HOME!

Freedom Flight South Florida invites you:

TONIGHT, from 7:00-9:30 PM there will be a Virtual Party featuring Michael Israel
(the infamous Artist described as
“Cirque Du Soleil” meets Picasso)
and recording artist Bonn E Maiy.

They tell me, this event will be a mind-blowing art and a music experience that you will remember for the rest of your life.

FEDERAL AND STATE RELIEF

As these relief packages become enacted,
we know they are complex and will require some guidance.

We are working with the Chamber of Commerce and our State and Federal partners to get better and more digestible information.

This is new to all of us but as we receive quality information we will post and push out to you.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Thanks to the work of City Staff and the Greater Sunrise Chamber of Commerce, we have a web-page that we will keep updated as we receive more information on job opportunities.

If you are business tooling up or re-tooling for this crisis, or just need some help and want to hire, let us know so we can support our residents.

Contact me directly and staff will make sure we collect the information.

RESTAURANTS

Our restaurants are struggling.

Those that are open and who you liked in the past,
plan a delivery or take-out and show your love!

OR MAYBE TRY SOMETHING NEW!

Thanks to City Staff, there is a page to find your (new) favorite:

THE CITY OF SUNRISE NEEDS EVERYONE
TO WORK TOGETHER.

THIS IS A RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH OF US!
A RESPONSIBILITY OF ALL OF US!

SO MUCH IS AT RISK.

SAVE A LIFE BY BEING SMART.
