Commissioner of Insurance Notice to Insurance Companies
Insurance Commissioner Gary Anderson published a notice on Monday urging all insurers "as much flexibility as is reasonably possible" on the payment of premiums during the public health crisis.
The bulletin published on Monday urged carriers to "explore all possible ways to relax due dates" for premiums, extend grace periods or waive late fees and other penalties.
Baker Administration files legislation to allow restaurants to sell beer and wine to go
This language was included as part of legislation filed to address municipal and school issues during the Coronavirus crisis. The language as filed, permits establishments licensed to sell alcohol for on-premises consumption to sell wine and beer by take-out and delivery, provided that the wine or beer is sold in the original sealed container, is sold in the same transaction as a purchase of food and is not over certain volume limitations.
- Hospitality Mutual has announced that they will extend liquor liability coverage to existing policies to cover any sales associated with the new emergency bill or regulation.
Recovery Loans
Due to the availability of EIDL funds, the state is no longer accepting applications to the Small Business Recovery Loan Fund.
The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program is accepting applications from Massachusetts businesses.
