UTSA is responding to the COVID-19 outbreak with a commitment to supporting the safety of the university community while enabling the academic progress of students. Here is your digest of university updates.
SPREAD THE WORD
People from across the university are stepping up to let everyone know just how supportive, resilient and Roadrunner Stronger our UTSA community is. Listen to their #UTSAtogether message:
COMMUNICATION
GAME TIME: Roadrunner Productions and Student Activities are hosting a Trivia Stream Gameshow tonight for UTSA students only at 7:30 pm. It’s a great opportunity to get connected with your fellow ’Runners. Don't miss the chance to win great prizes! It will be live on TwitchTV. Follow the instructions in advance to be ready for the game when it starts.
NEW SPRING DATES: We know some of you have questions regarding important dates for this semester. Here’s a couple of updates that you can find in UTSA’s Coronavirus Updates FAQ as well as other topics.

  • For a student with disabilities who might not be able to accommodate this new normal, is an incomplete possible? Student Disability Services is working closely with students and their faculty to make all the accommodations necessary for this switch to virtual learning. For students who choose to drop a class, the university’s drop deadline for individual courses has been extended to Monday, April 13.

  • Can we postpone the “withdraw” date so students can make a better decision if they should withdraw or try to bring up their grade? The Drop Deadline and Withdraw Deadlines have been adjusted. Please see the Spring 2020 Academic Calendar for the new dates.
ASK STUDENT ACTIVITIES: The Student Activities front desk is available online to answer questions for students, student organizations, faculty and staff. Reach out to the Student Activities Virtual Front Desk between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. weekdays (until 5 p.m. on Fridays).

ASK THE INFO DESK: The Student Union Information Desk is now available to answer questions via Live Chat. Hours are weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can access the chat feature by visiting the Student Union website, or by starting a chat online.

SGA MEETING: The Student Government Association will be holding its weekly General Assembly via Webex on March 26 at 6 p.m. If you have any thoughts or concerns that you would like to share, please join the meeting.

JOB HUNTING: The Dreamers Resource Center and the Career Center are hosting a virtual meetup on March 26 from 10–11 a.m. students who may have employment, internship or résumé questions. Please join via the meetup via Webex.

Tip: Need help with Webex for either of the above two meetings? The Tech Café has increased training sessions for Webex and Jabber to help students, faculty and staff with tools for remote learning and working.
HEALTH
SUPPORT IS HERE: The UTSA Recovery Center supports students who are in recovery, struggling with substance abuse or interested in learning more. Reach out to recovery@utsa.edu or join a meeting via Zoom. Follow them on Twitter and Instagram at @UTSARecovery.

  • All recovery meeting: Mondays, 1–2 p.m.
  • SMART Recovery: Tuesdays, 5:30–6:30 p.m.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous: Fridays, 6–7 p.m.
