On Monday, March 23 , we will begin to deliver alternative instruction, and registration opens for summer and fall semesters. I am confident that our efforts will help students continue to learn and grow will be successful.

Here is the important information students need to know:

  • Students should check their official MTC email and D2L for specific information regarding the move to alternative instruction that goes live this coming Monday.
  • Academic advisement has begun and is being conducted online and on the phone.Students can go ahead and visit www.MIDLANDSTECH.EDU/advisement to schedule their advisement appointments.
  • Students should not come back to campus before April 1st. Student support services remain available via phone, email, and the Live Chat function on www.MIDLANDSTECH.EDU.
  • All on-and off-campus events including clinicals, labs, and Harbison Theatre performances are canceled through March 31.

Each college division has developed strategies designed to help ensure the teaching and learning process continues. While some employees will be working on campus in a limited way, effective on Thursday, March 19, 2020, most employees will begin working from home.

Thank you to all members of our faculty and staff for all you are doing to help Midlands Technical College during this crisis. Thank you to our students for patience and flexibility.

We are planning to reopen campuses on Wednesday, April 1. If that changes, new information will be posted on www.MIDLANDSTECH.EDU/coronavirus and sent out via text, email, and social media.

Stay well,

President Ron Rhames
