The pledge can be signed virtually on  www.visitwales.com/promise
ADDO - Get involved

The pledges/promises are:

Care for each other
  1. Look after my health — by regularly washing and sanitising my hands.
  2. Keep a safe distance from other groups — by choosing open spaces and respecting local rules.
  3. Act immediately if I feel unwell — by following advice, sharing information and returning home if I need to.
Care for this epic land
  1. Protect this beautiful land — by leaving no trace behind.
  2. Care for our countryside — by sticking to paths, leaving gates as I find them, and keeping dogs on leads when needed.
  3. Embrace Wales’ open spaces — by avoiding crowded areas and preparing for each adventure, come rain or shine.

Care for our communities
  1. Become a part of the place I’m visiting — by enjoying the culture and language when I’m there.
  2. Enjoy the best Wales has to offer by choosing local businesses and buying Welsh produce.
  3. Help each place prepare for my visit, by booking ahead wherever I can.

Message from Danny Hayes-Lissack is PR & Content Lead at S3:
"Ideally, we want to hear directly from you. Pick up your phone and shoot us a video. Our team are on hand to edit it and package it up so it’s distinctly Visit Mid Wales, ready for us to share with our thousands of followers."

  • Perhaps you want to tell our followers what you’ve been up to since lockdown restrictions were introduced, or how you’ve reopened – or you're preparing to reopen – so you can welcome back guests safely - whenever they choose to visit.

  • Tell us more about where you’re located and why it’s important to you so our future visitors can get to know the area, strike a connection with it – and with you, so they have a deeper understanding of its significance.

  • While restaurants still face some restrictions, maybe you have the perfect recipe people can try at home so they can enjoy a taste of Mid Wales and keep you in mind for a future visit?

If you want to discuss further best practice when it comes to shooting video, feel free to drop us a message –  and don’t forget, if you’re posting on your own channels, keep tagging us - @visitmidwales so we can keep on sharing.

'Eat Out to Help Out' Guidance
The UK Government has published guidance for businesses on how to register the “Eat Out to Help Out” scheme.

Business must register online to be part of the scheme
The key points for the scheme are as follows:

  • The scheme will apply for Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout August.

  • 50% discount on the cost of meals eaten on premises up to a maximum of £10 per diner.

  • The discount applies to food and non-alcoholic drinks consumed on the premises.
Are you concerned about taking larger group bookings?
We are receiving a number of enquiries from our members regarding larger group accommodation bookings. So far the advice we have received is as follows:

  • Your visitors (not accommodation owners) are responsible for compliance with the Welsh regulations that apply at the time of their visit.

  • Regulations in Wales relating to extended households are part of the Regulations in Wales and enforceable in law.

  • We would recommend that the party making the booking should be aware of their responsibility regarding the regulations that apply in Wales. If you use a booking agency, we would expect that your booking agency be aware of the current regulations in Wales and, in terms of best practice, advise visitors accordingly.

  • As the owner of the business, you should have contact details of all parties staying in your property to assist with track and trace requirements and you could consider asking the individual making the booking to confirm (and documenting) that they are aware of the Regulations in Wales relating to extended households.

Message from Dyfed-Powys Police:

"Should a property be occupied by more than two ‘extended’ families, then this would technically constitute as a ‘public gathering’ which would be dealt with by the police. Just as if this had occurred in a public location, this would likely be in the form of fines and a request to disperse. This would place the onus on the individuals who are occupying the property. A business owner may not always know if visitors comprise of multiple families when accommodation is being booked.

It would be helpful to remind individuals at the booking stage of the current restrictions in Wales and that they could be challenged by police and fined should they be found to be not adhering to the guidance."
