Grace and peace to you. This past week we have seen circumstances move very quickly regarding the Coronavirus (COVID -19). With the recent announcements and closings we want to communicate where to put our trust, what our plan is for this weekend and how we are called to love one another.
1. We will know peace as we trust in God. Psalm 46 says, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." If you feel fearful, meditate on God's Word, and encourage others to do the same. Here are some passages to meditate upon when you feel anxious about the situation.
This is a time where our faith in God helps us to have bearing, to have wisdom and to walk by faith
All events at the church are cancelled, but we are live-streaming our Sunday service to enable you to worship from home.
For worship on Sunday we will have only essential people in the building to lead worship via live-stream. You can tune into the live stream by simply going to our website home page:
I will be preaching a message from Acts 11:27-30 called, "God's Provision to His People in Peril." We will see how our Sovereign God speaks to His people by His Spirit so that we will know His plan and respond in love to others. Sunday's bulletin will also be available on our home page.
3. This is a time to love others well. Jesus says in John 13:35, "all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." I want to encourage you to not only take precautions for your own safety, but also to act generously toward others. Check in on your neighbors, call someone who is lonely, offer to pray with those who feel scared. Make sure people around you have necessary items like food, etc. Follow the Spirit's leading and be a blessing where you can be as God gives you opportunity.
In closing, we are in a season of 40 Days of Prayer. That is no accident! God has been leading us to seek Him with all our heart. Pray for our country to know peace. Pray for God's power to cause the virus to be suppressed.
Thank you for your prayers for one another, your leaders, and for our whole nation.
I will see you at our live-stream on Sunday morning!
May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you all,
