NOTIFICATION TO RESIDENTS AND REPRESENTATIVES
September 25, 2020
Dear Gilpin Hall Family,
This is to inform you that, as a result of this week's testing of asymptomatic staff, we had one staff member test positive for COVID-19. The staff member will be retested and will self-isolate. We will be in regular contact to assess any symptoms in order to determine a safe date for returning to duty.
As a reminder, under the new testing requirements outlined in my September 10, 2020 notice, we now must begin a new period of "outbreak testing". We will again be testing all residents and staff (regardless of their last test date), with follow up testing every 3-7 days, until there are no new cases for at least 14 days from the date of the most recent positive result. Sadly, this also delays our ability to obtain approval to begin indoor visitation.
As always, the safety and well-being of all residents and staff is our top priority and we continue our efforts to minimize risk based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Delaware Public Health (DPH).
Due to government privacy requirements, we cannot divulge specific information about any individual who has confirmed or suspected COVID-19. Please direct any questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
I will keep you informed as we move forward.
Linda B. Schwind, NHA
