Coronavirus COVID-19
Update
June 1, 2020

Good afternoon Gilpin Hall Family,

As reported in my email dated May 15, 2020, we have begun testing all asymptomatic residents for COVID-19. As of today, residents in two wings have been tested and all results were negative. Again, we are very thankful! Testing will continue with the goal of completing resident testing within the next week.

Governor Carney, through Delaware Public Health (DPH), has mandated weekly COVID-19 testing of all asymptomatic employees/vendors who enter our building. This order is effective today and we are ready to begin as soon as we receive final guidance from the State. We have been told to expect this guidance today or tomorrow and we will comply as directed.

On May 18-19, 2020, the State licensing office, Delaware Health and Social Services/Division of Health Care Quality, performed an Infection Control Survey at Gilpin Hall. I am excited to report that we received a deficiency-free survey result and I could not be more proud of our staff members who have worked tirelessly toward keeping our environment safe. Congratulations Gilpin Hall staff!!

Our State Ombudsman would like to make certain that anyone desiring their services has their contact information. Therefore, I am resending the information provided in my May 8th email.

I will continue to keep you informed and, as always, please contact us at info@gilpinhall.org with any questions or comments.

Warmest regards,
Linda Schwind
