Dear Neighbors,
We know that this has been a difficult time for our entire community, and are so grateful to each and every one of you who are staying home, and to those of you who are front line workers and first responders who are out every day supporting our community.
The Mayor's office has made two important announcements that we want to share with you immediately:
- Starting tomorrow, May 6, everyone is required to wear a mask when in public indoor spaces, including public transportation.
- As of Saturday, May 9th, Denver will be moving to a Safer-at-Home order. This means that generally, you should still plan to stay home unless absolutely necessary, but non-essential businesses will begin to reopen.
Please read on for more specific information about what is to come. Although there are still a number of decisions yet to be made about larger-scale events, we hope this information will provide a bit of guidance. Thank you to all who are doing your part to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We wish you and your families health and safety. Together we will get through this.
Gratefully,
Councilwoman Amanda Sawyer
Denver City Council, District 5
