March 11, 2020
We have created a coronavirus information page on our website:
. (It may also be reached on the homepage under Community and Resources.)
The page includes:
- my recent emails on the subject,
- our current thinking on the ramifications for Lab of the constantly changing situation,
- some great resources for discussing these issues with your children and
- an introduction to our distance education plans.
We have created this page in consultation with other local schools, our school nurses and medical advisor, while paying close attention to the DC Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Tomorrow (Thursday March 12) we will be finalizing our distance learning plans by division and related service department. Thank you for your understanding for our need to have the entire day Thursday to train and practice so that we can provide your children with learning opportunities and a sense of connection should we need to close school for an extended time. We will be updating our COVID-19 page with these details as soon as possible.
We will continue to update other sections of the page, noting the date of the changes. Please continue to communicate with us regarding any contagious illnesses in your family or decisions to self-isolate as a precaution. We are continuously monitoring the reports from CDC, DC Public Health, and our independent school communities to make the best decisions for the health of our community.
As spring break approaches, we will be monitoring travel advisories and updating often. We expect that our policies regarding travel will be changing quickly and frequently. Please check our information page regularly.
