- Governor Hochul reaffirmed New York's commitment to women's rights at the Women's March and Rally for Reproductive Rights at the Women's Rights National Historical Park in Seneca Falls. Read more here.
- The governor expanded vaccine mandates to include staff in OMH and OPWDD hospital settings. Read more here.
- The governor announced a $1.16 billion federally funded grant program that will assist in mitigating future national disasters such as severe floods, wildfires, and hurricanes.
- The program is called Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities and Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant Program which State agencies, cities, towns, and Indian Tribal governments can apply. Read more here.
- The governor signed legislation (S.64/A.1524) which would allow homeless, elderly and disabled SNAP recipients to use their benefits for prepared or hot food from participating restaurants. Read more here.
- The governor announced the launch of a program called Restaurant Resiliency Program to provide relief to restaurants affected by COVID-19 .
- The program allows for food banks and emergency food providers to purchase prepared meals from New York restaurants and deliver them to families in need.

- Victims of Hurricane Ida in parts of New York and New Jersey now have until January 3, 2022, to file various individual and business tax returns and make tax payments. Read more here.
- Individuals and businesses in a federally declared disaster area can get a faster refund by claiming losses related to the disaster on the tax return for the previous year, usually by filing an amended return.

EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) portal is accessible to applicants with household incomes between 80 percent and 120 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI).

NYC SMALL BUSINESS RESOURCE NETWORK
|

The NYC Small Business Resource Network is a unique private/public partnership that provides our local businesses with the free, personalized guidance they need right now to survive the pandemic. If you have a small business, you can sign up for this network today.
Once you fill out the brief intake form, you will be matched with a business support specialist. Through this program, all five borough Chambers of Commerce have specialists offering one-on-one support to businesses in their boroughs.
The program is funded by a $2.8 million grant from the New York City-based Peter G. Peterson Foundation and supported by in-kind contributions from other partners, this collaboration, led by the Partnership for New York City, the NYC Economic Development Corporation and all five Chambers of Commerce, leverages the city’s corporate, financial and professional services sectors, as well as universities, philanthropies and expert volunteers to help small business owners gain access to a range of programs and services.
