Dear Parents,

We will host an open house for prospective families on Sunday, January 27 from 2:00-4:00. If you know of someone interested in our school, please let them know of this event. We want others to know what a wonderful school we have!
Open House for New Families
Please spread the word to family and friends that our Open House for new parents is taking place on Sunday, January 27, 2019, 2 p.m.— 4 p.m. Interested parents are invited to tour our school and meet with students, teachers, and current parents while learning about our many excellent
academic programs for all students. In addition, tours of our school are always available by request.
Contact the school office at 342.5474 or school@corpuschristiparish.com for more information.
Celebrating Vocations
We enjoyed having Father Victor Ingalls on our school campus today. He celebrated Mass with us and spoke to each of the classes concerning Vocations. He ended the day enjoying PE with our 8th-grade students.
Bible Verse of the Month
Our Bible Verse for January:

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Our prayer focus is the “Anima Christi”
Smartwatches/Fitbits
From Mrs. Martin:

Due to recent issues with popular network enabled watches and step tracking devices, Archdiocesan schools are in the process of altering handbook policies concerning the use of such devices on campus. All devices used on campus must be monitored through the school’s network. Since many of these devices are connected to a cell phone or outside wireless carrier, the school administration is unable to monitor students’ activity. Therefore, SmartWatches, Fitbits, and other fitness trackers are prohibited from being used by students while on campus. We understand that some of these devices are not network enabled; however, it is too difficult to police which devices have networking capabilities and which ones do not. Many fitness trackers that have advanced technological capabilities look very similar to those which do not making it difficult to distinguish from one another. If you have any questions concerning this policy, please contact me directly.

American Heart Association
Corpus Christi is participating in the American Heart Association obstacle course as a way to raise money for the heart association. On Thursday, January 24th any student who brings in at least $5 will get to participate in an obstacle course competition during their regular P.E. time. Please send any money in an envelope with your child’s name and grade on the front of the envelope.
"Just 25" - A is for Africa
Beginning next week, we will start collecting $.25 on the 25th of each month. These funds will be donated directly to A is for Africa. Currently, AIFA provides a hot porridge lunch for more than 1,100 children in grades kindergarten - 7th. The cost of the lunch is approximately $.14…so your quarter donation will help to feed children each day!

The students and staff at Corpus Christi had already helped the Matim Primary school when we gathered school supplies last May and donated them to AIFA. Many of these supplies are still being used on a daily basis at the school. Additionally, at Christmastime, students at Corpus Christi made cards and wrote letters to send to Matim.
Catholic Schools Week
We will celebrate Catholic Schools Week January 28-February 1.

The theme of Catholic Schools Week is Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed. We have planned many events for this week! You can download the schedule HERE.
Catholic Schools Week Kick-Off During 11:00 Mass this Sunday
We are going to kick off our Catholic Schools Week Celebration this Sunday during the 11:00 a.m. parish Mass. We want to celebrate the partnership we have we have with our parish and let parishioners know we are thankful for their support. We also want to recognize the role you have as parents in being the primary religious educators of your children.  Our teachers will be leading the mass as readers, and we are asking our students to come in uniform. Please join us.
Family Day
On Friday, February 1 we will celebrate our families. We invite all of our families to join us during lunch waves for a family style picnic. The cafeteria will be selling pre-ordered box lunches of pizza. The lunch will consist of a slice of pizza, chips, and water for $4.50. Please see the form below if you would like to order.
