The mission of Corpus Christi Catholic School is to nurture every child by providing the opportunities to grow in faith, achieve academic success, and serve others as disciples of Jesus
April 3, 2020
Dear Families,

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this unprecedented time. Our school certainly feels lonely without the smiling faces of your children filling the halls and classrooms.

Our teachers have happily accepted the challenge of continuing to fulfill the mission of our school from afar. Over the past several weeks, they have been working tirelessly to plan and offer distance learning opportunities for their students. I continue to be amazed at their creativity and their passion for making sure their students succeed. Your children are truly loved by all of us here at Corpus Christi Catholic School.

For now, our distance learning plan will continue through next week. Our Easter break will begin with Good Friday and last through Friday, April 17. An announcement should be made by April 19 by the Archdiocese concerning the continuation of distance learning. Of course, any consideration of reopening Catholic schools would depend upon the advice of civil authorities.

If you were unable to access our previous letter concerning our distance learning plan, you may access it below. The letter also contains a link to our distance learning website which has helpful information such as Google Classroom codes, tutorial videos, and other resources. If you find yourself in need of assistance, please know you may always contact me.
Family Activities for Holy Week
This coming Sunday is Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion and marks the beginning of Holy Week. During this week, we are led through Jesus’s Passion, Death, and Resurrection. Please see the attachment below for a list of activities you can do from home as a family during this most special week in our Church.

From Our Counselor Ms. Smith
During this time of uncertainty and social distancing, we know our students may be experiencing heightened feelings of anxiety and uneasiness. Please know that Ms. Smith continues to be available for our students and their families during this time. Feel free to contact her via email,
Kentucky Derby Fundraiser Update
Due to current events, the CCS Derby Committee has decided to CANCEL the upcoming CCS Kentucky Derby Fundraiser and online auction. We want to thank all of our sponsors who have committed to continue to support our school! We know that the CCS Kentucky Derby 2021 will be bigger and better.
From the Director of CYO
The 2020 CYO Spring Soccer Season has been officially cancelled. We were hoping to play a shortened season beginning in mid April, but with the announcement that school would be closed until at least April 20 coupled with the President's decree to "shutdown" until the end of April, lends us to the decision that unfortunately Spring soccer season will not occur.

As we look forward to the next CYO season...

The 2020 Fall Sports Registration will officially open on May 1st. CYO will offer the following programs:

Football - 5th & 6th Grade
Flag Football - K - 4th
Soccer - K - 8th (All Co-ed & D2 Girls)
Volleyball - 4th - 8th
Cheerleading - K - 6th

Your parish athletic representative will have more information forthcoming on Spring soccer registration refunds as well as Fall Sports Registration.

CYO will continue to work to provide a strong Catholic sports program for our kids during this ever changing and trying time.

Please continue to pray for those most affected by this tragic situation. May we use this time to reflect on the most important things in our lives and may God Bless you and your Family!

Corpus Christi Parish News
Statement by Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi
The suspension of public worship services and most church activities in the Catholic churches of the Archdiocese of Mobile is extended through April 18, 2020. The original suspension was announced on March 17.

This means that public Easter services will not be celebrated in our Catholic churches.

This is a most painful decision. Not only is Easter a time of celebration, even more importantly, the Resurrection of Our Lord is at the core of our Christian faith. However, this action is taken in the interest of the common good of our communities and is in accord with the advice of civil authorities.
