The Cougar Connection
The mission of Corpus Christi Catholic School is to nurture every child by providing the opportunities to grow in faith, achieve academic success, and serve others as disciples of Jesus
February 22, 2021
Dear Families,

We are now in the holy season of Lent. Lent is a time of reflection and of our turning our hearts to God. As we begin this Lenten journey toward a greater union with Christ, we hope to strengthen our faith through devoted practices of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
Bible Verse
Our Bible verse focus for the month of February is Matthew 6:33.

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Our prayer focus is the Angel of God prayer.
NCEA Distinguished Graduate and Business Partner Recognition
We will welcome Father Gil Pierre to our campus tomorrow. He will celebrate Mass in our church, and we will honor him as our Distinguished Graduate. In addition, we will also honor Rusty McCarron with McCarron Services as our Outstanding Business Partner.

Summer Camp Program
We are now accepting registration for our 2021 Summer Camp Program. It is open to all of our K2 - 1st-grade students this year (going into K3 - 2nd grade). The program begins Tuesday, June 1st, and will end on Friday, July 30. Please see the attached registration form for program hours and tuition. The registration deadline is March 15.

The Iowa Test of Basic Skills will be given March 10-25. Please do not schedule appointments or other activities during those testing dates.
Changes to our Lunch Program
As a reminder, our food service provider made the change to online orders only. Parents are able to order lunches in advance and you have until 11:59 p.m. each night to preorder for the next day. All parents should have received an email from Lexington Food Service Director, Alexis Davis, with information about creating an online account and instructions on how to place your order. If you did not receive the email or if you have questions concerning lunch orders, please contact Alexis Davis with Lexington Food Services.

Parents have requested and now is the chance to purchase! A PTO subcommittee has been collecting information about ordering Cougar Swag but we need to justify purchasing minimum quantities for products. Please fill out this simple survey so we can gauge interest.

A HUGE shout out to the 20 families that are actively submitting receipts on the Box Tops App! We now have a total of $192 earned for the school year!
While the pink box tops are becoming harder to find we did have 51 submitted! THANK YOU for taking the time to clip and turn those in.

Since the program moved digital there are fewer and fewer pink box tops to clip though there are still some out there. This is why scanning your receipts is so important for this FREE MONEY program to work.

If you still have any of the UNEXPIRED pink box tops, please send them to school NOW! Many of them expire on 3/1/2021! I still have time to send them in for credit.

If you are not using the Box Tops for Education app please consider doing so. This is free money for the school and all you have to do is scan your receipt.
The app is very easy to use and had lots of bonuses.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
