The Cougar Connection
The mission of Corpus Christi Catholic School is to nurture every child by providing the opportunities to grow in faith, achieve academic success, and serve others as disciples of Jesus
September 14, 2020
Dear Families,

We hope that you all remain safe over the next few days with the expected impact of Hurricane Sally. As stated in an email sent earlier today, all local Catholic schools will be closed tomorrow (9/15) and Wednesday (9/16.) If there are any changes to this plan, we will be sure to let all of our families know.
Bible Verse
Each month students learn a Bible verse and recite it together at school during our morning prayers. We also pray a particular prayer each month. During the month of September, our verse is Proverbs 3:5.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”

Our prayer focus is the Our Father.

We would love for you to work with your students at home.
School Pictures
Students in grades K3 - 8th will take school pictures in uniform this Thursday, 9/17.  K2 students will have their pictures taken on Friday, 9/18.
Archbishop Rodi School Mass
Archbishop Rodi will celebrate Mass with our middle school students on September 22.
Support our Library
Dear Parents and Students,

I planned to have a modified in-person book fair this Fall, but due to some issues with Scholastic’s warehouse workers in our area, it has been cancelled. I am REALLY hoping that by the Spring, we will be able to have an in-person fair again.

I do have a donation program that I would like to let you know about. This program is through Bound to Stay Bound, the vendor I purchase our library books from on a regular basis. These books are made to last, which is why I choose them for our library collection. They have a program that allows me to set up a wish list and parents and students can browse and buy a book or make a monetary donation to help our school add these titles to our collection.

When a book is purchased, you have options for a bookplate to be placed in the book with the name of the donor or in honor of someone, etc. Your child can leave a legacy that will last for many years in our library. All students who check out that book will see the book plate and know that it is thanks to your kind donation.

I also plan to let the donor be the first to check out the new book! So, you will get to read a new book and then so many others will be able to enjoy that book for years to come. It is a win-win!!!

If you have a book in mind that is not on our wish list, please let me know and I can certainly see if it is available and add it to the list. I will be adding the link to the Library website for your convenience. I set a goal and plan to have it run through the school year. If all goes well, I will continue with this program. Bound to Stay Bound makes it very easy for all. It is also an easy way to keep our collection current with titles students really want to read. The goal is ALWAYS to encourage reading.

Go take a look and remember, more can be added to the wishlist!!!

Thank you for your support and have a great day,

Mrs. Mansfield :-)

A is for Africa 9/25
We are excited to continue our partnership with the Matim Primary School located in Arusha, Tanzania, East Africa this year. This partnership provides a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about children in another part of the world who lead daily lives which are so different from our own. To help support the school, we will continue to have monthly A is for Africa “Just 25” days in which students are encouraged to donate .25 cents towards this cause. Our September date is Friday, 9/25.
Toy Bowl Court
Our 8th-grade students are raising money to support the CYO program and are looking forward to participating in the annual Toy Bowl. The presentation of the Toy Bowl Court has been postponed until spring but our students have started fundraising already. One of the most popular fundraisers is the Mums Sale. The deadline to place an order is September 25 and mums will be available on October 15th.
