Photo from a customer who planted a Dwarf Brazilian Banana this spring that is now fruiting, he also has a Dwarf Cavendish banana fruiting.
Banana trees are also very hardy. All of mine that were planted in the ground came through the 15° freeze and have grown back to between 6’ to 25’.
So they are very resilient.
Tissue cultured banana plants provide robust plants that are disease-free that can be the first line of defense in developing an integrated disease-management program for banana plants.
They also take a shorter time to mature and produce larger more uniform bunches.

Papaya 3 gal now $10
Most Papaya trees bear fruit seven to 11 months after planting.
Papayas express three different sexual forms: hermaphroditic, female and male. Female and hermaphroditic papayas are capable of bearing fruit.
Planting 2 or more papayas will increase the odds of getting a self-pollinating hermaphrodite or a mix of female and male plants.
Photo of one of my Papaya trees fruiting, planted this spring.
Papaya trees are also a beautiful tree in the landscape one of my favorites with large dark green leaves.
The leaves are also edible and many papaya leaf preparations, such as teas, extracts, tablets, and juices, are often used to treat illnesses and promote health in numerous ways.
Dragon Fruit plants can begin flowering in as little as six to eight months, although container-grown plants may take up to two years to bear fruit. The good news is that once the plant is mature, you could see four to six fruiting cycles a year from a plant that is capable of bearing fruit for 20 to 30 years.
